'What We Carry' explores the often-unseen realities of living with medication Informed by Altman's own experience with having a disability, the work reflects on how medication becomes embedded in daily life both as benefit and as a burden. Through intimate portraits of individuals in their own domestic spaces, Altman creates room for reflection on routine, dependency, and the emotional weight of being medicated. Working with 5x4 large format film, she adopts a slow, deliberate process, allowing for conversation and connection to shape each image. Resisting urgency, the project mirrors the ongoing nature of these experiences. 'What We Carry' seeks to challenge stigma and bring visibility to the quiet, complex ways medication shapes identity and everyday life.
